If you’re new or moving to the Main Line, you may not know about some of the annual (and non-annual) happenings in the area. While there are plenty of wonderful seasonal activites and events in downtown Philadelphia, some people are not fans of larger crowds or parking challenges and are looking for things NOT in the city. Here’s the list! West Chester does a terrific job of transforning the borough into holiday central and I’ve never heard of anyone being less than awed by Longwood Garden’s Christmas extravaganza. If you have a child who would love a train adventure, the Strasburg Rail Santa train might be just the ticket. Rose Tree Park in Media is beautifully lit and a wonderful experience for those looking for something outdoors. If you are looking for some additional options, this list combines city and Main Line (and beyond) events; there’s some overlap with the other lists, but some new ideas as well. Happy holidays!
